Biography
My name is Professor Bernardo, and I am a fourth-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with 32 years of experience. Throughout my competitive career, I have earned multiple IBJJF titles, including becoming an IBJJF North American Masters Featherweight Champion. I originally started Jiu-Jitsu under the guidance of my cousin, who later became my longtime instructor and mentor. Over the years, Jiu-Jitsu has given me everything I have in life and has played a major role in shaping the person I am today. It has taught me confidence, discipline, perseverance, and character—qualities that extend far beyond the mats. Teaching is incredibly important to me because passing my knowledge on to others and making Jiu-Jitsu a meaningful part of their lives is one of the most rewarding feelings. Being able to help my students develop confidence, discipline, and strong character, and knowing they will carry those qualities with them both on and off the mats, is what makes teaching Jiu-Jitsu so special to me.
