Biography
My name is Coach Keith, and I’ve been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for six years. I’m currently a purple belt, and Jiu-Jitsu has become a major part of who I am today. I started training during a challenging season of my life, and it quickly became a positive outlet that gave me focus, discipline, and a renewed sense of purpose. Since I started training, Jiu-Jitsu has helped me become a more confident and disciplined person. It has helped me break bad habits, get into the best shape of my life, and discover my passion for coaching. Training and competing continue to challenge me, push me outside of my comfort zone, and motivate me to keep becoming the best version of myself both on and off the mats. Teaching is especially important to me because when I was younger, I had an instructor who made a huge impact on my life at a time when I really needed someone to look up to. I want to be that same positive influence for my students, especially the younger generation. Being able to help others build confidence, develop discipline, learn how to protect themselves, and realize what they’re capable of is one of the most rewarding parts of coaching for me. Jiu-Jitsu has given me so much in my own life, and being able to pass that on to others is what makes teaching so meaningful to me.
