Biography
My name is Professor Raullen, and I am a fourth-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. I have been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 28 years and received my black belt in 2008. I first became interested in Jiu-Jitsu because I had friends who trained, and I saw how strong and confident they were. Then I watched Royce Gracie compete in the UFC, submitting his opponents while wearing a gi inside the cage, and I knew this was something I wanted to learn in order to protect myself. Since then, Jiu-Jitsu has completely changed my life. It taught me to believe in myself and has given me opportunities to travel around the world, experience different cultures, and meet people from all walks of life. Throughout my journey, I have had the opportunity to teach Jiu-Jitsu in countries including Dubai, the UK, Germany, and Portugal, and to share my knowledge with members of the military, police, educators, and even the Abu Dhabi royal family. Teaching is so important to me because I have seen firsthand the impact Jiu-Jitsu can have on someone’s life, especially the confidence and strength it can help them build. Being able to pass on what I have learned and watch Jiu-Jitsu positively impact others is incredibly rewarding. I am grateful to continue sharing the art that has given me so much throughout my life.
