Biography
My name is Professor Rolles Gracie, and I am a sixth-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 35 years of experience. I am the grandson of Carlos Gracie Sr., the founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and I began training as a young child under the guidance of my uncle, Rilion Gracie. Throughout my competitive career, I have earned medals at major BJJ championships, competed in mixed martial arts for organizations including the UFC and ONE Championship, and have had the privilege of teaching and sharing BJJ with students around the world.
While I am grateful for those accomplishments, my greatest passion today is teaching. Jiu-Jitsu has shaped every area of my life, teaching me discipline, resilience, humility, and perseverance. It has given me lifelong friendships, incredible opportunities, and a purpose that extends far beyond the mats.
As an instructor, my goal is to help every student discover what Jiu-Jitsu can do for them. Whether someone wants to learn self-defense, build confidence, improve their fitness, compete, or simply become the best version of themselves, I believe Jiu-Jitsu has the power to transform lives. Watching students grow—not just as martial artists, but as people—is the most rewarding part of what I do. It is an honor to continue my family’s tradition by sharing BJJ with the next generation.
